20th September 2019 Millions join Global Climate Strikes Millions gather around the world to take part in the Global Climate Strike. Bath saw an incredible turn out with people of all ages joining the march! The day saw hundreds of people take to the streets to march in protest against the age of fossil fuels. Red Rebels The 'Red Rebels', some protesters painted their faces white and wore red to represent the blood of the dying planet. Time is running out The protesters formed a circle around the fountain which represented a clock. They walked around it, stopping before reaching midnight to symbolise time running out. The 'Die-in' Protesters were asked to sit or lie down for seven minutes to represent the extinction of living things. Act Now Chants could be heard throughout the day demanding serious action to be taken to combat climate change.
