Rainforest Concern

Rainforest Concern is the Official Charity of the Green IT Awards

In May this year, Rainforest Concern was asked to be the official charity of the second Green IT Awards at London Zoo.  The Awards ceremony took place on May 19^th and over 200 supporting guests gathered to see the outcome of Green IT Magazine's reader voting, and the Judging panel's deliberations.

The Awards set out to showcase and reward the technology, tools and solutions, as well as the companies and organizations, that have made a significant contribution to improving the IT industry's environmental performance over the past 12 months.

The ceremony was supported by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, The Department of Energy and Climate Change and Iomart Hosting and, of course, by Rainforest Concern as the official charity.

The evening began with a welcome speech from Catalina MacGregor The United Nations Agency’s Green ICT Liaison Officer and Bob Harvey, Vice President of BCS at The Chartered institute for IT.

Company of the Year was won by Fujitsu, and the Product of the Year was taken home by 1E – NightWatchman Server Edition.  A full list of the winners can be found at www.greenitawards.com.
