Ride for the Rainforest

Between the 20th February and the 1st March 2010 a group of cyclists from the UK are taking on the challenge of cycling across Sri Lanka to raise funds for Rainforest Rescue. The cycle ride is organised by Desert Venture.

Rainforest Concern is supporting Rainforest Rescue, one of our partners, by funding some of the conservation work that they are fundraising for, as well as by managing the fundraising and sponsorship process for this event.

Fundraise via Justgiving

Why not set up a page with Justgiving.com to help you collect your sponsorship? It couldn't be simpler! Raising money can be a great character building exercise not to mention all the fun involved! We have had money raised for Rainforest Concern from a huge variety of imaginative events, or you can nominate Rainforest Concern when you participate in a larger organised event, like the Virgin London Marathon.

• sales: icecream, home-made cakes and biscuits, crafts, brick-a-brack, greetings/Christmas/Birthday cards...

• sponsored events: walk, run, silence, read, bike ride, swim, haircut... the list of what people can sponsor you to do is endless!

• other events: themed parties, concerts, speed-dating (!), "mufti" days at work or school. Egg decorating, egg hunts and rolling competitions, are all excellent fun at Easter time
