New Colombian National Natural Park

In October 2009 the government of Colombia announced the creation of Yaigojé Apaporis National Natural Park, a 1 million 80 thousand hectare (2.6 million acre) park in the Colombian Amazonian rainforest. Rainforest Concern funded most of this achievement through the Colombian environmental NGO Gaia Amazonas.
