Our partners Quest Overseas run a series of expeditions to South America. In partnership with Rainforest Concern, these expeditions give volunteers of all ages a unique opportunity to help important conservation programmes in remote locations. Opportunities exist in the Amazon of Ecuador and Bolivia, as well as the cloud forests high in the Ecuadorian Andes.
With our partner organisation, The Endangered Wildlife Trust, we have protection programmes for the giant Leatherback Turtle on the Caribbean coast in both Costa Rica and Panama. With less stringent enforcement of environmental regulations in Panama, turtles which one year have laid their eggs safely in Costa Rica, have the next been slaughtered on beaches in neighbouring Panama, so protection in both countries is of vital importance. To find out how you can volunteer to play your part in protecting these magnificent animals, please visit The Endangered Wildlife Trust website for contact details and information on availability, or alternatively contact our partner Global Vision International who can arrange the entire trip for you, including flights and transfers etc. as required.
Santa Lucia and Junin are two community run projects in the Choco-Andean Corridor. Visit the stunning Cloud Forests at Santa Lucia on the western slopes of the Andes in Ecuador, or volunteer at Junin, in the intag area of northwest Ecuador and really make a difference!
Rainforest Concern has a successful partnership with the travel company i-to-i who are now arranging volunteer placements to our community ecotourism project at Santa Lucia in north west Ecuador. To find out more go directly to the i-to-i website.
