Registered charities will greatly benefit from the tax paid on your donations. This will make your support even more valuable, and at no additional cost to you.
If you Gift Aid your donation, Rainforest Concern will receive an additional 28p for every pound you give.
Rainforest Concern can claim Gift Aid of 25p on every pound you give. HMRC is also operating transitional provisions for Gift Aid donations made from 6 April 2008 until 5 April 2011, and pays us a supplement of 3p on every pound you give, making it a total of 28p per pound.
The process is simple and all you have to do is make a Gift Aid declaration. This can be done by ticking the box on our website when you sponsor an acre or make a donation, by ticking the Gift Aid box on our forms or by giving us your permission over the phone, as well as giving us your full home address. You can also fill in our Gift Aid form and send it to us.
Rainforest Concern can then reclaim the basic rate tax.
You can Gift Aid your donation if:
Only UK tax counts, so if you only pay tax outside the UK you will not be able to Gift Aid your donation. However, if you are a US tax payer, you can donate via American Fund for Charities.
Donations from companies, schools and trusts cannot be Gift Aided. Donations from companies should be given including tax. The company can then claim back the tax when doing their annual accounts.
You can Gift Aid your donations if you pay tax on a private pension plan or a savings account, or pay capital gains tax if you sell property or shares.
If you make a donation via CAF, tax has already been reclaimed.
If you are unsure whether your
donations qualify for Gift Aid tax relief, please contact us or you can visit HM Revenue and Customs' website to find out more.
