How to offset your carbon emissions

Sign up to the Forest Credits Programme and we will help you audit, reduce, and offset your current carbon dioxide emissions. We evaluate the offset project in which we invest your money, and your own carbon reduction efforts annually. Audit

For office-based businesses, it is straightforward to assess the amount of CO₂ a company emits. We analyse your utility usage and business travel / transport data to calculate the annual tonnage of CO₂ emitted. For more complex operations, we work with expert partners.

Reduce

The most important step to responsible environmental practice is to reduce energy consumption. Our expert partners will gain an understanding of the nature of the energy and transport impacts involved and provide you with advice on reducing CO₂ emissions and therefore costs.

Offset

We calculate a ‘per tonne cost’ for your total annual CO₂ emissions. This is the amount that will allow us to protect and plant an area of rainforest capable of absorbing an equivalent amount of CO₂. Your offset donation will be invested in one of our projects, chosen in consultation with you.

Evaluate

We offer an ongoing service, monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the progress of the projects your money has supported. We will also continue to work closely with you to help you to reduce your CO₂ emissions wherever possible.

As a carbon offsetting donor, you will receive an annual certificate demonstrating your commitment to carbon reduction and offsetting. You will also be entitled to display the Rainforest Concern Forest Credits logo in their literature and premises.

Many of our business donors welcome the opportunity for their employees to engage with Rainforest Concern in a number of ways, including sabbatical volunteering on our worldwide projects, or setting up community links with the local people at our projects.
